#AuthorTalk, book discussion, social club, aye! David Marcus and Ms. Liza got me an invite to my first fireside chat on my book, Hey Auntie. Momma, I made it!
Yeah, so I did a thing the other day, and I owe it all to a woman who couldn't control herself against a twenty-one-year-old man's advances. Oh, did I mention the woman in question works with the man's aunt.
The same aunt who invited the woman in question, to spend Thanksgiving with her family so she wouldn't spend her first holiday in a new city, alone.
Thanks, Ms. Liza (for letting that man fill in your #agegap)!
Last Saturday, I had the privilege of breaking bread with the CP Social Club, to discuss my Thanksgiving novella, Hey Auntie. To date, I had never done any form of sit-down discussion of my work in a group setting. Full transparency, I was a little anxious, slim. But shout out to @Resealisareads for setting up a warm and easy vibe that everyone in attendance was able to get comfortable in.
Now I won't bore you with the sordid details because what happens in Vegas, I mean Fight Club, I mean at the CP Social Club, stays at the CP Social Club, ya'hear'me! However, the book discussion all-in-all was a good time.
Hearing in real-time the reactions from something I wrote was a dope experience, especially for something from my back catalog. We cleared up some confusion, laughed at and defended the actions of the MCs, and got answers from one of my favorite questions..."ladies if faced, with a David Marcus level situation, WOULD YOU TAK--..."
Dammit, I almost broke the first rule of Fight Club, I mean CP Social Club.

No, all jokes aside, for my first opportunity to chat with a group about my words, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and am already looking forward to the next opportunity. Come on man, look at those faces.

Miss Rese, thank you again for sharing your club with ya'boy! To everyone who was able to make the discussion, thank you for showing up and taking part. Love!
