BeeSpoke Book Club extended an invite for me to do my second #AuthorTalk ever, this time with my latest project, Salt & Pepper. Slide with me back down to the H to talk all things Boom & Nia.

Yeah, so at this point I'm like a veteran or whatever, when it comes to talking about books. And this go round our subject matter only took some top tier trifling behavior, to help a man find his forever love (again)--how you love that.

D.C.'s own, Chris "Boom" King has spent the last two years of his life running through any attractive woman who blinks at him wrong in his new city of Houston, Texas.

But at the end of the day, that's not the man he is. An abrupt and painful betrayal following a 19-year marriage has warped his vision on trust, friendship and love. And it takes the allure of a woman unlucky in love herself to remind him that the man he was always meant to be, was something far greater.

Thanks, Nia for (finally) leaving space for that man to show you how real love is supposed to feel.

On the last Saturday in January, I had the privilege of breaking bread with BeeSpoke Book Club (@beespokebookclub), to discuss my first full length big R, romance novel, Salt & Pepper. BeeSpoke is headquartered in Houston, TX, so my attendance would be virtual.

Cool, no problem.

Slim, when that camera feed went live, and I saw they had me on that Summer Jam screen though...

No, shout out to Brittany (@beestiing), the founder of BeeSpoke who kept the lines of communication open well in advance and fostered an easy vibe...eventhough they didn't slide ya'boy none of the food they were partaking in.

Now as usual, what happens at BeeSpoke Book Club, stays at BeeSpoke Book Club, but a time was had. We talked a little bit, I answered a few questions, even got to ask a question or two, and they let me judge a ______________ [ lost signal ].

Full transparency, learning that I was the first male author the book club read as a group came with a little pressure. Listen! That's a different kind of first, ya'hear'me!? Especially when you're talking about #romance as the chosen genre lol. But I ended my time with the ladies without anyone wearing a screwed up face so, we gonna call it a win.

Shout out to the good ladies of BeeSpoke Book Club. Thanks for having me. And thanks for giving a Black male author a chance. For real, it is appreciated.

We locked in nie!
